Glencoe

Jenn Wilcox graduated from Photography in 2010 and is currently working as a freelance photographer.

“I aim to develop my career, researching and visually documenting the world’s wild places, whether they are near or far”.

In her final year projects Jenn researched the history of Glencoe Ski Hill. Other projects included researching ‘St.Kilda’.

” In 1956, Philip Rankin established White Corries Ski Resort on Meall a’ Bhuiridh, Scotlands first ‘commercial’ ski centre. Philip, now 93, still lives in the Glencoe area and I had the oportunity to meet with him on several occasions to discuss the hill. It was through these meetings that I learned of the crucial importance of the ‘inescapable Scottish snow fence’. It is around these snow fences that the project is loosely based”.
