Hoedown

Eleanor Stewart graduated from Illustration in 2009 and is currently completing a course in stop-frame animation at The University of  the West of England. Eleanor plans to study a Masters in Animation next year.

Her animation for ‘Hoedown at the Rodeo’ received a “Bram Stoker Award” for most imaginative new work and a D&AD ‘Best of New Blood Award” in 2009. It has since been screened in Sweden, London, Houston (USA)  and Tampa Bay, Florida where it was screened alongside a live orchestral performance by the South Shore Symphony Orchestra.

I created a music video for the Classical music work ‘Hoedown’ from the Rodeo Suite by Aaron Copland. It is a stop motion animation in which various characters, inspired by Cowboy and Western films, come to life from the musical score. It was made for my final year degree in Visual Communication at the Glasgow School of Art.
