Krapp’s Last Tape

Robert Hetherington graduated from Illustration in 2011.

During his final year he attempted to understand not just the play but also the ideas and processes of Samuel Beckett, through an experimental process of mono-printing, letterpress and digital manipulation. Exploring the nature of a book, it’s creation and existence as a text.

“You should do better, at least no worse, to obliterate texts, than to blacken margins, to fill in holes of words until all is blank and flat and whole ghastly business looks like what it is, senseless, speechless, issueless misery”

– Samuel Beckett, Molloy
